The Landlord Association: More than 25,000 evictions during 2016 leads to formation of regional panel of solicitors
Members of The Landlord Association reported more than 25,000 tenant evictions during 2016, the highest on record since the association began in 2006.
The Landlord Association provides free advice to landlords on the 600,000+ properties currently under let to tenants across the UK. One of the highest complaints into the association during 2016 was from members with tenants that were in breach of their tenancy agreement and required eviction through an accelerated proceedure.
Because the level of eviction cases reached 25,000 during 2016 it has been decided that an official panel of eviction solicitors will be assembled to handle the estimated increase of cases during 2017. Due to launch during March, the panel will be divided into regional sectors and promote the elected law firms. Members will be able to access the panel directly via the LandlordExpert.co.uk menu and trust that the firms chosen are reputable in the property litigation field.
Discussions are currently underway with the chosen regional solicitors. Please await further information via the website and member newsletters.
