Do i have to replace the existing oven?

Questions & AnswersCategory: General QuestionsDo i have to replace the existing oven?
Sam nas asked 2 years ago

Yesterday my agency informed me that my tenants are having trouble with the oven door...it is not closing correctly and therefore the food is not cooking properly. They quoted me £600 including VAT and labour costs. This being substancial put forward the offer of a mobile oven which would be delivered over the next few days, a brand new one costing £100. However, the tenants are refusing this offer and want the current built in oven fixed or a rent reduction. Since, it isn't in our tenancy agreement that I replace the oven as the house was let unfurnished, I think I'm being reasonable by offering an alternative oven. What do I?
